Spouse Abuse Stories Reveal Details Of Living With An Abusive Partner

By Michael Obrien

Domestic violence has become something that modern day society has become familiar with. You hear spouse abuse stories through local media outlets, can read them online, and can personally speak to individuals that have their own stories to tell. Every year there are thousands of people that die as a result of domestic violence.

The main reaction that people get whenever they hear stories of abuse, is why anyone would choose to stay in this type of situation. Many people retort that if they were in the same predicament, there would be nothing in the world that would make them stay. However, it is hard to judge another person, if you do not know the full story.

In a lot of cases, individuals that battle with abusers, believe that it will get better. They have been brainwashed, prior to the physical attacks being forced upon them. These men, and women are forced to emotionally believe that they are nothing. They believe that they do not have a purpose in this world, unless they remain subjected to the abusers actions.

These individuals do not think like ordinary individuals that are not being abused. They question themselves, and believe that they are the reason why the abuse is happening to them. It is sad, that anyone would think that they deserve to be treated in such an ill-mannered way, but there are a lot of people that do.

They try to envision their abuser in a positive light. They make excuses for their abuser, believing that one day they will change, or go back to the way that they used to be, prior to the abuse beginning. They are scared that if they are to leave their abuser, that no one else will want them.

It can be difficult to try to put yourself in the shoes of someone else. Individuals that abuse their spouses are horrible people. However, until you have personally experienced domestic violence, you cannot judge one person or the other. People often lash out at victims, telling them that they are stupid for staying. This is no way to help an individual get out of the difficult situation that they have found themselves in.

Most people that are involved in these types of relationships cannot get away. They have family obligations, such as children to worry about. They do not have anyone that they can turn to, if they did decide to leave, that would take them in. Generally, individuals that are in this type of predicament, have taken themselves out of their families and friends lives. They are truly alone, to live in their misery.

The problem is, too many people spend time reading through spouse abuse stories, before they actually do something proactive to help. Domestic violence claims the lights of thousands of men and women all around the world. However, the men and women that are being abused, are silenced. They are forced to live in their misery, and no one knows how horrible their pain truly is.
