These are books I have read a number of times for several years, as I have constantly been fascinated and intrigued by magic and magical powers. This is an amazing series about a boy who works inside the stables of a castle in a far away kingdom. He's pals with the princess Inos, who ends up becoming kidnapped via a magic casement. He figures he should find her and begins a journey to rescue her.
On his journey to seek her out, he realizes he loves her, while becoming the most powerful magic user on the planet! This is by no means a romance novel though, it is a wild ride from the start and is one of the most original fantasy adventure books I have ever read!! The magic is unique, the entire world it's set in is unique and the characters are unique. I always recommend this series to fantasy lovers.
Rap and Princess Inos lived within a backwater kingdom named Krasnegar, where nothing considerable ever happened because it was a peaceful realm. Princess Inos found herself sent for the Empire to understand how to be a royal lady. Even though she was away Rap's strange magical talents started to emerge, and the king fell ill. The story Faery Lands Forlorn starts with Inos, who is returned to her kingdom as her dad dies in front of her, only to be kidnapped through the magic window as her tiny realm is being invaded. She is a prisoner in the desert to a mad sorceress. Rap, by means of the magic casement, follows to rescue the princess but finds himself not in the middle of a desert, but within the steaming jungles of faerie! Rap is determined to rescue his love at any expense.
The story Perilous Seas starts where Rap continues his journey to locate his love. He is now armed with the powers of a magic word and an resolve to find his beloved Inos, even when he is sailing with the meanest of the Nordland Raiders on the ship Blood Wave...
The story Emperor and Clown is the fourth book of the series "A man of his word". In it, Rap finds himself waking up in a dungeon awaiting his death. Inos is being tricked in to marring Azark and it seems as there is practically nothing Rap can do to stop it. I'd have to say this can be the top book out of the series. Rap beats death and crazy odds. He is also asked to join with the gods after situations make him a lot more stronger then he ever imagined anybody could become.
