Reading through books is a far better alternative than watching films

By Aaron Freedman

Right from the most recent novels, to the very early launches of movies based on books, it's been accepted that generally the books are a lot better than that of their film versions. Excluding a few extremely perfectly directed, interpreted as well as budgeted films, more commonly nowadays, people who have read the books, will realize the film variation extremely frustrating. Here is the reason why.

Films are interpretations.

While reading a book, your mind will automatically try and convert whatever you have read through into a stunning picture that you can understand. This means, that all the characters which you read about, and all the scenarios are all shown in your brain, for making your experience far more genuine as well as fascinating. However, what must be recognized is that not everybody's perspective of how the book appears is identical. Actually, for almost all book readers, almost everyone's impression is unique in one way or the other! Hence, whenever a director tries to grab a book, and make it into a film, he is totally working from the presentation of the movie that he has set in his thoughts.

So now this reveals that if you are not enjoying a movie for whatever reason, you are in fact, not enjoying the director's presentation of the film. For example, in case you thought of a character which you've read about in the book, to look one way, and a director then selects an actor who looks a different way, it could be hard to relate with him just as much as the person you earlier envisioned. This is because your brain, during the process of reading the book, formulated just what you assumed the character would probably seem like, to satisfy your reading style most effectively. So, if the true character of the film seems different to how you first imagined, you will probably find him a lot less interesting.

Movies have financial constraints.

The major variation between a film and abook is the fact that a book costs a lot less to make as compared to a complete movie. Even though a book will probably simply take a couple of thousand pounds to get written and published professionally, some of the top movies have got budgets of more than a million pounds, and still aren't regarded as good as their books. No matter what, quite a few movies that have made from several high quality books, have been unsuccessful to get well certified, as they were not funded well enough to be properly produced. Thus, whilst there seemed to be quite a lot of potential for the film version of the book to become a success, it actually turned into a disaster, that eventually became forgotten among the various of different blockbusters that have failed.

Books require more thought.

While films are in-essence provided to you on a silver plate, books definitely require a lot of thought throughout. By doing this, you really feel a lot more engaged in the book, because you are thinking about the scenario for yourself, instead of seeing somebody else's viewpoint on the story. In this way you hardly ever have to think of what is happening in the film and you can normally expect the end result, before it has really taken place. This usually destroys the entire plan of the storyline, and may often leave viewers quite unhappy when they finish the picture, having not had any actual big surprise or perhaps actual enjoyment throughout the film. You may possibly notice that lots of directors have to resort to lovely visuals and action sequences to entertain their viewers today, because their movies are now too predictable to really get any enjoyment from the actual storyline of the film.

However, when reading a book, you might generally see that you are skipping to the previous pages, because you never really know how one will finish, and you are often questioning the tale while reading through it. Books usually include the little details that equally make it much more exciting and much less apparent for the readers to imagine the end result, that makes reading through the book completely, both worthwhile and interesting.

Books cost a lot less!

The final reason why books are generally regarded a lot better than their films is that books are far cheaper to buy and have way more to them. Thus often, you may have read a book, and then watched the film and observed that the movie has missed out several significant details which make the story. Thus in effect, by buying books you are both gaining more, and spending less simultaneously. Although it is well worth mentioning, that whilst the books can be a lot less expensive than the films, they are certainly lavish in how much time they require to finish. On the other hand a film's regular run time is approximately 1 to 2 hrs long.
