Domestic Abuse And Its Signs

By Andrea Davidson

Domestic abuse is a certain pattern of behavior which involves the abuse by one partner to another in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating or within the family. This may happen to everyone, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused and denied. This is often true especially when it happens to be psychological and not physical.

Each person is eligible to live a free life without having fear especially the person they love. If you begin to notice little signs of such relationships, you must learn to stand up and manage about ways to control and end it. If this happens to some important people around you, you must do your best to extend your hand for them and allow them to lean on you when they need you.

The best sign of any abuse would be when you start getting afraid of your partners. If you have the feeling of discomfort and insecurity upon living with them, there might be a big problem. It is often characterized by jealousy, intrusion, possession, isolation and over controlling.

A potential batterer has various reasons as well. Jealousy may also be another reason for it. These people often equate jealousy with love. They often control the entire behavior of a victim. They do not want to see them spending some time with others. They might even ask some friends to watch over the victim when he or she gets out.

A victim may always be accused of cheating or being so disloyal. Batterers will often want their partners to drop all their male or female friends or maybe shows up at the place of work because of suspiciousness. You would definitely deserve someone who would respect, trust and listen to you than have this form of intruding your privacy.

If you noticed that they are starting to threaten you and the people you love, you must leave immediately before the whole situation gets worse. They may start with several screaming and would later escalate to some life threatening violence. They can also start to threat themselves as well. They will use care as their weapon.

If your partner wants you to be isolated from the outside world, there might be another problem. They often tell you that they do not want certain people in your life. They often control you on the places you are going and about what you are doing. No matter how long is the entire problem, you must always reach out for help and find a support that you can lean on.

Others might stalk you to every place you go. To have a stalker is not good, rather, it is horrifying. You will surely live the rest of your lives in fear. Keep in mind that stalking is always a crime. As much as possible, you must immediately report these incidents.

Domestic abuse could lead to other major physical injuries like cutting, burning and biting. No one must be deprived to live life freely. If you think that your partner is abusive, you will never have freedom. Learn to stand up and speak your heart out. In case that there are matters that you want to discuss with your partner, do it calmly.
